Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle #1) by Christopher Paolini
Hey Faeythfuls! Today I’m posting my review of Eragon.
Three words for this book: 5 Star, Incredible, Classic

This book will keep you on the edge of your reading chair, eagerly flipping the page and staying up late for just one more chapter.
I’ll be honest, I knew I was going to love this book before I even read it. This is one of my favorite fantasy books and I’ve only read it once. It’s already a classic in my opinion.
This book has been waiting on my shelf for months and I’m so glad I finally picked it up! After reading Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” I was excited to read a more modern fantasy. I’ve already bought books 2 and 3 of the Inheritance Cycle and they are patently waiting for me to pick them up.
This book is suspenseful but it gives just enough to keep you coming back for more. The author does an amazing job of keeping the reader interested. Eragon is full of heart and suspense and really takes you on the vital emotional roller coaster that some fantasy books miss.
The characters are probably my favorite part. Saphira and Eragon have such a great relationship and it has been so heartwarming to watch the bond between boy and dragon grow. Saphira is my favorite character, I think. I can’t wait to see how she and Eragon grow together in the next installment.
Throughout the story, Eragon grows from boy to young man, learning lessons that quickly mature him. While he has come a long way, he is left room to grow and mature more in the rest of the series.
Magic in this world is very well crafted, it’s so simple and elegant I wasn’t confused once.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Eragon and Arya. I have a feeling this series is going to get really complicated really fast. Whatever happens next, count me in.
